Richard Kershaw Shiraz 2008
Wade Bales teams up with chef turned non-conformist winemaker Richard Kershaw, whose intellectual yet hands-on approach has resulted in winning wines at Mulderbosch. Richard is one of only two South African residents to be given the highly prestigious international title ‘Master of Wine’, which is often referred to as the ‘Ph.D’ of the wine world.
With inviting nose and crushed velvet texture, this wine can be enjoyed young, as it has a youthful burst of fruit, plus aromas of violets and vanilla tone from wood ageing. Serve with red meat or a Cape Malay dish, for the fruit copes well with spices. As the oak is integrated, accenting the spicy/black pepper spectrum, the meat could be casseroled or braised. To be enjoyed before 2015.
